Just a line to let people know that the names of Grangetown people are still being stored here and the Old Boys Team that George played for has a similar strip to Grangetown Athletic - however there doesn't appear to be a complete strip - and maybe this team was a group determined to keep fit. I wonder how old George is on the photo. There's a clue to the year it was taken. I imagine George would be about 20 and date it therefore at 1911. And now that Libby's brother has re-taken the picture I just love the background houses and wonder where they actually were. We're now beginning to think it was a St Matthews Team because George was a choir boy there.

John I'm shocked that Communigate shut down. Is there any way to get the content? So much history there...!! Mark

One midnight, St. Patrick's Day, 9 years ago, I "surfed the net" and found my Great Aunt Winnie McKenna on your site! What a thrill! You asked what happened to her... Never married, had two shops in Ireland, visited her twin brother, Eddie, in U.S. when I was a baby, late 50's. She had pneumonia for most of her visit. Grangetown fascinates me. Thanks for trying to save the site. I loved the old stories about the families of a certain street and the info on baptisms and Godparents. The old ways of life that are so foreign, yet oddly familiar through the folks on your pages, who raised us. Thank you, for what you've created!

So nice to discover that Eddie and Winnie are the twins on the postcard that Josephine Fox gave me. Winnie's pictures are still being used in Middlesbrough - when an exhibition in Mima takes place in January.
